ABOUT US  The Nathan Drew Memorial Trust was formed
in September 2003 when 15 year old Nathan Drew drowned
whilst fishing at the Salmon Holes in Albany. This incident
and many similar tragedies demonstrated the need for
improvements in coastal safety.

The aim of the Trust is to initiate and foster the improvement
of coastal safety, not just in the Great Southern Region but
throughout Australia. To date, the Trust has achieved the
following advancements in coastal safety:

1. Instigated coastal safety surveys
2. Pushed for improved safety signage
3. Designed and implemented the installation of the   Silent
Sentry system
4. Provided buoyancy vests for hire from Denmark to
Bremer Bay
5. Initiated the development of a coastal safety information
system.
